I was worried about the authenticity of the product as it is far cheaper than on the official musashi website and that in the pictures there is no "musashi" inscription on the gold colored metal piece above the guard. I got the free two day shipping and it promptly arrived. I was more than pleased when I took it out of the box. It was far more sturdy than i had expected and looked far better than in any picture. It did in fact come with a certificate of authenticity. I am very very satisfied with the purchase. criticisms - the piece that is supposed to have the musashi stamp does in fact have the stamp but doesn't fit, it wobbles around all the time. I'm unsure about the small oil colored lines that run throughout the blade, can't seem to wash them off but polishing may take care of that, however it may be just what the steel is supposed to look like (never owned this type of steel blade). It wasn't really that sharp at all, couldn't even cut into paper. Had to sharpen it myself and since i'm inexperienced I left some pretty gnarly scratches. It scratches extremely easily but i guess thats inevitable with something that is being used to cut things. If you want it for a display piece don't use it ninja

I usualy love cold steel knives. This katana arrived a bit sub standard. There are rust spots about 2 inches long on the face of the blade. Also on the spine at about the center point on the blade there is a 3 inch rust spot. Most of the length of the blade was dull except for the tip. It appears as if the katana had been stored for a very long time or handled much before it was sold to me. I will however keep it and attempt to buff out the rust then sharpen. Tanto Sword

For the price I don't think you can get a better Samurai sword. Normally I collect fantasy swords or medieval time swords but I do have a few katana's and this one is great. While its not my best one for the price, its of great quality. I was very impressed by the quality of this katana when I pulled it out of the box. The blade was well made and came with a certificate of authenticity that detailed the basic qualities of the sword as a whole. I wouldn't say it was razor sharp but it was sharp enough to do the basic cut tests, in which it held as expected for it's particular price. The artwork on the handle is well crafted and gives it it's own unique look which I personally like. I would say it's better than average for its price, so if you want a better sword you'll need to pay more. sakabato weapon

I own and have used several live blades. This one is of better construction than all but one, which cost me $1000. The blade is almost full tang and well secured with two pins. The blade is well designed with a nice long fuller and comes semi-sharp. It took little time, however, to get it sharp enough to cut hairs. Not going to lie I expect this to be a complete s*** of a blade. Meaning like the cheap ones you get, were the blade rattles, you can remove everything with a single bolt, welded together on some little piece of metal, duller than a butter knife, rusty, easily bend, etc. This has been everything that but that, I was SHOCKED! Put together properly, not a single rattle sound, blade fit into the sheath, has a smooth unsheathing to it as well. Taking it apart was a little tough to how tightly the handle was fitted, which is good.The blade held up well against my friend's $1k Bungei sword, yes I compared a cheap Amazon sword to the glory of Bungei scream at me all you want. janpanese samurai sword

This Cold Steel Warrior Katana is better than expected. I have had the sword for two weeks now.The sword arrived with some dirt on it that wiped off easily. I agree with other reviewers that this katana is blade heavy making quick recovery during forms more than a bit difficult. The blade is sharp enough to catch on a thumb nail when scraping over the nail to check sharpness but not shaving sharp. The katana cuts completely through water bottles better than many of the videos depict on You Tube. best katana sword

The sword is everything I expected it to be. It came sharp but I sharpened it to what it should be and just tapping the blade causes a good gash. I dropped a steak on it and it cut right through it like a knife through butter after I sharpened it. But just using it out of the box I was able to cut through a rolled up carpet. I love this weapon. It maybe lighter than wood, but it is far more durable. I also like its lightness because it can used with speed. I plan to get a second one to have a matching pair. I have 2 Wooden Wakazashi Bokken and 1 Wooden Tanto Bokken, and all three are stored because they get chipped and start to split. I will only use Cold Steel Trainers from now on. The Cold Steel trainers don't have the distracting vibration that wood creates hitting a target. Lastly, a well placed strike with a Cold Steel trainer can be just as brutal as a Wooden Bokken strike. battle ready katana

Double Sweet!!!!!! Beautiful red and black blade highlights the folding laminations, solid construction. Hay bales yield smoothly. Details nice. I got it for the symbolism of the green and fish, and the red blade details -- Archangel St Raphael, the Source of Divine Healing (Green and fish) and Archangel St Euriel, the Source of Divine Wisdom (Red). Later, I might ask Ryan to have matching Wakizashi and Tanto made for me. I'll bet that the Archangel Raphael, the Source of Divine Healing, uses the sword to metaphorically cut out illness. katanas

Super light weight ,pretty sharp blade. Beautiful sword with a reasonable price. Glad I went with the red blade, though it seems more brown then red.All in all it is actually better then expected. It is sharp but I wish it would have been extra sharp. real swords

For the price I don't think you can get a better Samurai sword. Normally I collect fantasy swords or medieval time swords but I do have a few katana's and this one is great. While its not my best one for the price, its of great quality. It is sharp so it should not be played with as someone can get seriously injured but that should be common knowledge when dealing with swords. And this is a real sword. Saya For Sale

This came with some very sharp edges from the casting. I had to shave those off to make it feel right. This is too light for my taste, as I train with it and the o-bokken at the same time. real swords

Good beginner sword. Perfect sword for display. Let's be honest, no need to spend $$$ for a samurai sword that you will never use. And if you do practice samurai fighting, you wouldn't be looking on amazon for one. It is well made. Tsukas for sale

The blade wobble a bit when holding it sideways, but you get what you paid for. It's mostly supposed to be a decorative piece, so i honestly didn't expect it to be able to be used Naginata

This Cold Steel Warrior Katana is better than expected. I have had the sword for two weeks now.The sword arrived with some dirt on it that wiped off easily. I agree with other reviewers that this katana is blade heavy making quick recovery during forms more than a bit difficult. The blade is sharp enough to catch on a thumb nail when scraping over the nail to check sharpness but not shaving sharp. The katana cuts completely through water bottles better than many of the videos depict on You Tube. Buy Tsuba

I don't know a lot about swords, but I did a lot of research before buying it because it was a gift. Prompt delivery, gorgeous blade, very sharp. I couldn't find anything else as good as this for the price. You could definitely find better, but you'd be paying at least hundreds of dollars more. My boyfriend was ecstatic when I gave it to him! :) tanto blade
